It's time for Atanahue and his companions to return to the land and their loved ones after a fabulous epic ... ➡️ Help you conclude Atanahue's Journey by answering the last question: what memory on land makes you forget the sea?

Story of the day : The Long Road by Bernard Moitessier

Three weeks ago, we began this journey with the words of Bernard Moitessier. It is therefore in his illustrious company that we wish to conclude this journey.

In 1968, Bernard Moitessier left Plymouth in England aboard the Joshua to take part in the first non-stop solo round-the-world race, the Golden Globe Challenge. While he was in the lead and the race organizers were already busy preparing for his arrival, he forfeited the race to everyone's amazement in order to continue his journey: "To return already would be like never having really left" he wrote.

On June 20, 1969, after 300 days at sea and 37,455 miles sailed, Moitessier arrived in Tahiti. He took his boat out of the water and started to write his book "La Longue Route".

In this work, Bernard Moitessier says "I went far, almost too far, by dint of wanting to go even further ... I am happy to see my friends again" .And you, what is your best memory on land?
