Our dry stack marinas

Port Adhoc’s dry stack marinas network

A dry port offers facilities for hosting and storing boats out of the water. In such a marina, boats are stored on land, typically on racks or cradles.

In a dry marina, boat owners launch their boats for each outing and haul them out again afterwards. This is done with the assistance of marina staff, who are responsible for transporting vessels within the storage area, using appropriate handling equipment and tools.

This type of storage provides excellent protection when the boats are not in use—between trips at sea or on inland waterways:

The Port Adhoc Group operates a network of 12 dry stack marinas across France, the Netherlands, and Sweden. In France, Port Adhoc Paimpol, Port Adhoc Soubise, Port Adhoc Bayonne Anglet, Port Adhoc Leucate and Port Napoléon welcome boaters along the French coast. 🇫🇷

In the Netherlands, owners can store their boats ashore in Jachthaven Naarden, Marina Muiderzand, and the ports of Lelystad (Lelystad Haven, Deko Marina Lelystad, Flevo Marina Lelystad). 🇳🇱

On the Baltic Sea, Port Adhoc also accommodates boat owners wishing to store their boats ashore at the Swedish port of Svinninge Marina. 🇸🇪

Choosing a dry port to suit your needs

Each marina has its own specific features and a unique environment. Your choice of dry stack marina will depend on several criteria: proximity to your preferred cruising area, the available handling and lifting capacities, storage conditions, and the services on offer.

Cruising area

Port Adhoc’s storage facilities are always located near navigable waters. In France, for example, Port Adhoc Paimpol opens onto the English Channel, Port Adhoc Soubise is on the Charente coast, Port Adhoc Bayonne Anglet serves the south-west and Atlantic coast, and Port Napoléon is located on the Rhône and the Mediterranean.

We recommend choosing a dry port that’s easy to reach from your home—or close to a body of water you enjoy. Why not select a location that allows you to discover a new area by boat?

Dry stack marinas are often best suited to trailerable boats such as RIBs or open hulls. However, not all marinas can accommodate every type of vessel: at Port Adhoc Paimpol, for instance, only motorboats are permitted.

We advise checking whether the facilities and handling systems are compatible with your boat: your vessel’s size and weight must match the capacity of the crane, hoist, or trailers used at the marina. If you wish to store your boat indoors, you should also ensure that your vessel fits through the building’s entrance.

You’ll want to favour a marina equipped with modern, reliable gear—ensuring your boat can be handled swiftly and safely.

Finally, how can you prepare comfortably for your trip once your boat is launched? Across the Port Adhoc network, our dry stack marinas include waiting pontoons to make boarding and disembarking easier.

European marina infrastructure offers various dry storage options: on racks or “shelves”, on cradles, on open-air hardstanding, or indoors—like in the boat shed at Port Napoléon.

Reception conditions vary from marina to marina. Depending on your vessel and your intended use, some may be more suitable than others. All Port Adhoc marinas are secure and monitored.

We recommend considering the handling services on offer:

How often and at what times can you launch and haul out your boat? How long does the operation take? Will you need to book in advance?

If in doubt, our teams are here to help!

When selecting your dry stack marina, take the available services into account. For example, what facilities will you have access to?

All Port Adhoc dry ports are secure and feature washrooms, cleaning areas and waste disposal points. Launch and recovery services are available depending on the selected contract—either for a fixed number of operations or unlimited use.

In all cases, boats are launched very quickly—sometimes even before you arrive!

💡 Don’t forget: Professional service providers are also present on-site to offer technical support. This is ideal for maintenance and winterisation work.
