On the Catalan coast, just 50 kilometers from the Spanish border, Port Barcarès is a popular destination for its exceptional natural landscapes. Nature lovers will be delighted by the presence of the Salses and Salses-Leucate lagoon complexes, both of which have been classified Natura 2000 sites for their remarkable character. Port Barcarès also boasts 6 natural areas of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest. Its 7,000-hectare lake also attracts visitors.

Port Barcarès 's seven kilometers of fine sandy beaches make it the perfect place to try out or perfect your water sports skills: sea walks, jet-skiing, diving, sea fishing... Like the marina, all the destination's beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag label.

The monuments of Le Barcarès are easily accessible from the marina. The cabane de Coudalère, a fisherman's hut listed as a historic monument since 1994, is the closest: on the quai des chalutiers, right next to the marina.

Head north, away from the city center. After the Lido district and the Three Columns Memorial, you can walk along theAllee des Arts to the Lydia beach. This former ocean liner has been sunken in Barcarès since 1967. It is said to be the oldest and only sunken liner in the world! Since its installation on the waterfront, it has been transformed into a gambling casino. The Notre-Dame-de-tous-les-horizons chapel is also worth a visit.

A town on a human scale, with everything close at hand

The port of call covers an area of just under 12 km². And from the marina at Port Barcarès, you'll soon realize that the town center can be easily visited on foot!

In Le Barcarès, you'll find all the shops and services you need for your stopover, motorboat or sailboat: supermarkets, market, pharmacies... So you're sure to find everything you need to refuel your vessel and please your crew. If you're passing through the town center, don't forget to stop off at the Place de l'Eglise Notre-Dame-de-bon-secours!

Prefer to visit by bike? You'll find the Vélittorale cycle path criss-crossing the destination, taking you to Canet-Plage in just ten kilometers. If you'd rather ride along the Agly river, take the 15-kilometer Voie Verte.

At Le Barcarès in particular, you'll find a welcome pontoon next to the Harbour Master's Office. Docked on one of our 30 berths reserved for visitors, you'll have access to free WiFi, water and electricity terminals, showers, toilets and dishwashing bins in the marina, as well as a black and gray water recovery system and free waste recycling. There's also a launderette just 500 meters away. Our service station, dedicated to yachting and fishing, offers SP95 or diesel fuel and is open every day, non-stop.

As well as being perfectly located for exploring the destination, the Port Barcarès marina is also the ideal place to enjoy all kinds of water sports: scuba diving, water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, kitesurfing, windsurfing, waterbikes, stand-up paddle, pedal paddle... Finally, anticipate your arrival by taking into account the dimensions of your vessel:

Port Barcarès can accommodate vessels up to 18 meters in length, with a maximum draught of 1.80 meters. Access via the lift bridge is limited to units with an air draught of less than 3 meters, and passage under the D83 road bridge is possible for boats with an air draught of up to 7.50 meters.
