Flevoland, ideal for the recreational boating

In the Netherlands, the province of Flevoland covers an area of almost 2,500 km², literally surrounded by water: the Markermeer, the IJsselmeer, the Ketelmeer, the Vossemeer, the Drontermeer, the Veluwemeer, the Wolderwijd, the Eemmeer, the Gooimeer and the IJmeer. Boaters can take advantage of this vast navigation area and easily move from one lake to another via locks and bridges.

In Flevoland, the water is fresh! The water is separated from the Wadden Sea by the closing dike, or Afsluitdijk. Sailors benefit from calm waters, where the only currents come from the wind. They can sail at their leisure through magnificent natural spaces, populated by an abundance of astonishing flora and fauna.

In addition to the natural and man-made banks and islets of Flevoland, there are many beautiful historic towns and harbours to discover. Volendam, Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Hindeloopen, for instance, are not to be missed. Then there are the more modern towns, such as Lelystad and Almere, which facilitate yachting activities by providing boaters with all the services they need.

Our two Lelystad marinas are conveniently located. Both are close to the Houtrib dike, or Houtribdijk, giving boaters direct access to Lake Marken and Lake IJssel. Boaters can easily pass from one to the other via the nearby lock. They can then reach the IJmeer, the Randmeren, the Wadden Sea, the North Sea, the Frisian lakes...
