In Brittany, the activity of our Paimpol marina depends on tides like most marinas in this region. However, thanks to our location, our customers can sail 45 minutes before the opening and after the closure of the tide gates. The channel is navigable during a period beginning 3 hours before the high water and finishing 3 hours after.
Paimpol basin in Brittany
Paimpol is situated at the north of Guingamp, in Brittany. Paimpol-Goelo is a maritime land known for its authenticity and its “Icelandic” culture and history. Come and discover a region where sea and earth are constantly renewed, traditionally celebrated following the tides and seasons.
You will be seduced by the wild coasts sculpted by tides, especially the “Pink granite coast” near Perros Guirrec where you will enjoy an incredible landscape. Paimpol is situated in the middle of a wonderful basin comprised of huge coves like those of Yffiniac, Morieux, or the bay of Saint Brieuc which is a beautiful natural reserve.
Along these coasts, you will find some marvellous islands like Bréhat which is situated only few miles away from Paimpol: the mild microclimate offers a both splendid and atypical wildlife and flora. The archipelago called “les 7 îles” is another amazing place classified as natural reserve where exceptional species as Herring Gulls, Puffins, Northern Gannet or even Seals can be admired.
