In these unprecedented times, navigation is forbidden to us. However, let's not deprive ourselves of dreaming it, of imagining it. We would like to invite you to participate with us in an imaginary journey during the next few weeks, while waiting for us to meet again around the first navigations of the season.

"I have been dreaming my life for months and months, yet I am really living it."

Bernard Moitessier, The Long Road

Synopsis - The Journey of Atanahoue

During his confinement, Atanahoué is deprived of one of his greatest joys, sailing. Days and weeks passed and Atanahoué remembered: his first navigation, his first companions, his first tastes and smells. From this sweet nostalgia, Atanahoué came out of it with a certainty: he had to go back to sea and realize his greatest dream...

Help us to write the adventure of Atanahoué

Each day, we will ask you a question about your own experience at sea, your adventures, your story. Your answers will help us, together, to build the great story of Atanahoué.
These different questions will be grouped around major themes and each week, a new theme will be addressed. This is your story: you will be invited to vote for your favorite answers each week.

You are free

If one day a question inspires you in particular, feel free to answer it several times. Conversely, if on another day, a question speaks to you less, don't hesitate to answer it later or to leave it aside, you will probably be more inspired by the next day's question. All your answers are anonymous.

From constraint, creativity is born

We know how difficult this new period can be. So, in order to feed your imagination, we will share with you daily inspiring works of art of all kinds.

Chapter 1 - my very first time

This week, we start at the genesis: your personal stories, your experiences, your emotions will constitute the memories of Atanahoué. To discover and answer the first question, click here.

Story of the day - Guirec and his hen, Monique

It is in 2013 that the amazing adventure of Guirec Soudée, a young Breton from Plougrescant, and Monique, his redheaded hen, begins.
Supported by Port Adhoc, the two acolytes travel the seas of the world aboard their steel sailboat named Yvinec in tribute to the small island where Guirec lives. He began his Atlantic crossing by stopping in Spain, Portugal, Madeira and the Canaries before reaching Greenland, where he remained imprisoned for 130 days in the ice with his faithful Monique, far from being a chicken.

"I talked to Monique every day. We played hide and seek in the boat. She looked at me funny when I was listening to music. Fortunately, she was there. (remarks collected by Ouest-France.fr)

He then crossed the perilous Northwest Passage, set sail for the Deep South, weathered storms in the most extreme latitudes, rounded Cape Horn, reached Antarctica before starting a long return to Brittany. For Guirec and his faithful Monique, the sea has always been an obvious choice, and you, when did you hear its call? Share your adventures with us by answering the first question.
