Remember: last summer, Julien Poublan – a Port Adhoc boat owner – was preparing for a very special Atlantic voyage. Aboard Désirade, his Sun Odyssey 36i, he aimed to carry out environmental awareness activities and collect environmental data to support certain scientific studies. Today, where does his project stand?
In Le Verdon-sur-Mer, Port Médoc is part of a genuine port dynamic – attentive to projects that give meaning to local maritime life. Among the latest initiatives, the reception of the former military patrol boat Pen Men marks an important milestone: from 2026, the heritage vessel, currently under restoration, will indeed be moored year-round at Port Médoc.
Setting course for a transatlantic crossing in an ocean rowing boat: in just a few days, the BeStGoLe crew will leave the European coastline to take on the World’s Toughest Row between the Canary Islands and Antigua. The Handicat Foundation has made Svinninge Marina the home port for its inclusive catamaran, dedicated to welcoming people with disabilities. The protective cocoon is a practical solution for protecting a dry boat for several weeks or months. But once the boat is in the water, the PVC protection is not reusable and becomes waste. To remedy this, the Port Adhoc teams at Port Leucate have chosen to innovate with biodegradable boat protection cocoons.
